Time to Take Action
Kelleher & Buckley, LLC assists clients in lowering commercial and residential real estate tax bills. Please contact our real estate tax appeal attorneys, Henry “Skip” Tonigan and Joe Hudetz, at (847) 382-9130.
A DOUBLE WHAMMY! First Springfield hits us with income tax increases. Then, for the second year in a row, the Lake County Supervisor of Assessments sends out large assessment increases which will result in much higher real estate taxes.
Coupled with last year’s increases, assessments on commercial and industrial properties have increased between 10 to 35%, depending on your township. Wauconda’s assessments have increased over 15%, Avon’s assessments have increased over 20% and Waukegan’s will increase over 30%! These type of valuations are not supported by the sales in the market and can likely be challenged.
Henry “Skip” Tonigan and Joe Hudetz can review your situation for potential savings. But time is of the essence, as any appeal must be filed within 30 days from the date of mailing to you. If you snooze, you will lose.
The following are deadlines for those townships that have sent notices. (The County will be sending out other notices soon!)
|Township||Final Filing Deadlines|
|Avon (Grayslake/Round Lake)||08/07/17|
|Moraine (Highland Park)||07/24/17|
