Employment Law Update: The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued new information regarding the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).
Key Takeaway: The FFCRA goes into effect April 1, 2020. Rights and obligations of employers and employees relative to the FFCRA will be different before and after April 1st. Employers have a number of available options before and after this date. We are prepared to discuss and assist you with any of the options you elect.
Expected Forgivable Loan Program: Additionally, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) approved by the Senate yesterday evening includes a “forgivable” fast track loan program for many businesses to cover payroll and certain overhead expenses. As this bill moves through the House and White House, there will be additional updates to come.
